Mazak built the QTN 250-II M as a NEXUS series CNC turning center, and the M in its name marks milling with rotary tools driven in the turret. That turret holds 12 tools, its driven ones reaching 4500 rpm on a 7.5 hp / 6 kw motor rated for 10 minutes. On the main spindle, which wears a 10 in chuck, an integral motor gives 35.0 hp / 26 kw over 30 minutes and a ceiling of 4000 rpm. Bar work of up to 3.0 in (77 mm) passes the spindle, whose standard chucking is through-hole. Machined diameter peaks at 14.750 in. Three bed lengths are printed, labeled 500, 1000 and 1500: machining length grows from 19.858 in to 40.358 in and 59.858 in, and Z stroke from 22.63 in to 43.13 in and 62.75 in, while X holds at 9.00 in on all three. The CNC takes MAZATROL conversational or EIA-ISO programs, and the equipment list names an automatic tool eye and a tailstock under program control.
