What Is in the Tacchi Book Right Now
Tacchi is the only brand in this hub, and the book runs 70 listings. Fifty-one of those 70 are CNC Lathes, the largest category here by a wide margin. Another 16 sit under Metal Cutting, and the tail is three single units: one CNC press brake, one CNC deep hole drilling machine, and one CNC miscellaneous machine. So 19 of the 70 are something other than a CNC lathe, which is worth knowing if the Tacchi on your floor is not a flat bed turning machine. Across those 70 listings there are 55 distinct models, so most designations appear only once and every unit gets scoped on its own model, control and condition rather than against a nameplate average. Of the listings that carry a build year, the span runs from 1985 to 2015. The other 27 carry no year at all, which is common on machines this old and this heavy.
Tacchi Model Families We See Most
HD is the largest model family in this hub at 32 of the 70 listings. HD is Tacchi's heavy-duty flat bed line, the machine most shops picture when they hear the name. HD3 follows with 7 listings, and FTC, the flat bed CNC turning line, also has 7. FTF accounts for 4, DB deep bore and FT for 3 each, and FTC100 and FTA for 2 each. Those families cover 60 of the 70 listings, so a handful of one-off designations sit outside them. HD 1450 CNC and HD 1000 are the units that repeat most, at 3 listings each. Behind them, HD/3 105L X 7000, HD/4, HD/1450, DB 132 HS TYPE 14X7000 and FTF-1600 each show up twice. HD and HD3 are counted separately here rather than rolled into one number, because a Tacchi HD/3 and a plain HD are not the same machine to the shop buying it.
What Moves the Number on a Used Tacchi
Swing and distance between centers are the first two figures, and on a number of Tacchi units they are sitting right in the model designation. HD/3 105L X 7000, HD/1450 X 4M, HD/3-90L-600X10000 and HS 1000 x 7000-10000 mm all carry the capacity in the name, so a photo of the data plate often answers the first two questions before anyone picks up the phone. After that comes control make and generation, since we buy Tacchi machines running Fanuc and Siemens alike, then bed and way wear, spindle and headstock condition, steady rests and whatever tooling comes with it, and whether the machine still holds tolerance. Have This Ready Before You Call
Data plate model and serial number, build year, swing and distance between centers, control make and generation, the tooling and steady rests that go with the machine, and whether it is still under power. That last one matters. A machine we can see running scopes differently from one shut down two years ago. Either one is fine as long as we know which it is. Photos are not required, but three of them do most of the work: the control screen, the data plate, and one wide shot showing how the machine actually sits on the floor. That third photo carries more weight on a Tacchi than on a typical vertical machining center. These are long flat bed lathes, and the rigging plan gets built around the real footprint and the path out of the building rather than a catalog dimension. The Rest of the Tacchi Lineup We Buy
What we buy runs wider than what is in the book today. Condition works the same way. Running production, sitting idle since a job ended, or needing work before it cuts again all get evaluated, and none of the three disqualifies a machine.
