Among Mazak's two-axis NEXUS turning centers, the QTN 300-II swings 26.77 in over the bed and machines diameters as large as 16.540 in. Its three beds carry the names 650U, 1200U and 1500U. On the shortest, a part may be machined over 26.149 in of length while Z travels 26.38 in. Bar stock of 3.0 in fits through the spindle, which a 35.0 hp (26 kW) motor, rated over 30 minutes, spins as fast as 4000 rpm. A 12 tool upper turret is fitted. For programming, the Matrix Nexus CNC takes Mazatrol conversational programs as well as EIA-ISO ones.
