The SQT 200MY is a Mazak CNC lathe with milling as standard, grouped by Mazak with its multitasking lathes. Its 8" through-hole chuck sits on an A2-6 spindle nose, and the spindle runs to 5000 rpm; its main motor gives AC 18.5 kW (25 HP) for 30 minutes. Parts are machined to a diameter of 11.81" and a length of 21.18", and bar stock passes to 2.0". Its servo-driven VDI turret takes 12 tools, 1" x 1" square shanks and boring bars up to 1.5", and indexes in .2 sec. Rotary tools turn at 4500 rpm from an AC 3.7 kW (5 HP) motor rated for 10 minutes, with 6000 rpm as an option. Rapids on X and Z reach 1,200 IPM; the C axis spins at 400 rpm.
