Mazak catalogued the SQT200MS among its multitasking CNC lathes, with milling included as standard. The headstock spins to 5000rpm from an AC18.5kW {25HP} motor whose rating covers 30 minutes, and carries an 8" chuck with a through hole on an A2-6 nose; bar stock of 2.0" can pass. Turned work stays within 21.18" of length and 11.81" of diameter. A servo driven turret of VDI type stores 12 tools and takes .2 sec per index, with shanks that are 1" x 1" and square, and boring bars as tall as 1.5". Driven tools get their own motor, AC3.7kW {5HP} for 10 minutes, and turn at 4500rpm, or 6000rpm optionally. For X and Z alike, 1,200 IPM is the rapid figure, while C axis rotation is limited to 400rpm.
