Milling comes as standard on Mazak's SQT 200 MSY, a CNC lathe with a 5000rpm main spindle driven by 25 HP (18.5 kW) over 30 minutes. Driven tools have their own 10 minute rated motor, 5 HP or 3.7 kW, and run at 4500rpm, with 6000rpm listed as optional. The lathe takes bar up to 2.0", and it cuts work 21.18" long and 11.81" in diameter at most. A through-hole 8" chuck fits its A2-6 spindle nose. Twelve tools load into the VDI type turret, which is servo driven and changes position in .2 sec. Tool shanks are 1" x 1" square; boring bars reach 1.5". Rapid motion on X and Z is 1,200 IPM; C-axis rotation reaches 400rpm. Its SPECS block prints no figure for a Y axis or for a second spindle.
