Mazak based the 5X version of its VERTICAL CENTER NEXUS 510C-II on the VCN-510C, mounting a trunnion type NC rotary table for contouring in all five axes under a MATRIX II CNC. The rotary table accepts a workpiece of 533 mm diameter and 305 mm height. X runs 1050 mm, roughly double the 510 mm given to Y and again to Z. Its spindle, 40 taper, peaks at 12000 rpm; behind it, a motor carries 15.0 hp / 11 kw over a 30 minute period. A 30 tool magazine feeds it. Mx roller guides carry each linear axis, and the CNC panel pivots for viewing.
