What the maker publishes about the current Mazak VARIAXIS C-600
Mazak builds the VARIAXIS C-600 as a simultaneous five-axis vertical machining center, with the workpiece carried on a tilting rotary table. That table is Φ23.62" × 19.69", carries up to 1102 lbs spread evenly, and takes parts as large as Φ28.74" × 17.72". Travels are 26" in X, 22" in Y and 21" in Z, while the B axis tilts from minus 30° to plus 120°. With the table level, the spindle nose sits 2" to 23" above its top. The spindle takes No.40 taper tooling and turns to 12000 rpm on an 11 kW (15 HP) motor; torque is 52 ft-lbs at 40% ED. A 30 tool magazine holds cutters up to Φ3" in diameter (Φ5" with the neighboring pocket empty), 12" long and 18 lbs each. All three linear axes rapid at 1654 IPM. Fitted with its MAZATROL control, the machine occupies 93" × 117", stands 120" tall and weighs 22046 lbs. A 2-pallet changer with 19.69" square pallets is optional.

What the Mazak VARIAXIS C-600 is used for
Mazak's 2021 release says the VARIAXIS C-600 cuts steel, cast iron and aluminum on its standard 12,000 rpm spindle, with a 15,000 rpm high-torque spindle option for stainless steel, titanium and Inconel.

Mazak said in August 2020 that the new VARIAXIS C-600 would debut at its All Axes LIVE online event on August 11, 2020, so the C-600 was introduced in 2020.
