What the maker publishes about the current Mazak QUICK TURN 250MY
Mazak's 250MY is a turning center equipped for milling and given a Y axis, and the turret Mazak lists for it is of the VDI type. Two universal bed types are listed for it, named 500U and 1000U. Several capacity figures read the same on both: a 27 inch swing, a 15 inch maximum machining diameter and 3 inch bar work. A 10 inch chuck mounts on a spindle with a 4000 rpm ceiling, driven by 26 kW (35 HP) on a 30 min. basis. Twelve tool positions are provided on the turret. Stroke is 9 inch in X and 4 inch in Y on either bed type. Mazak groups it with the other 10 inch chuck machines of the same lathe line, the 250, 250M, 250MS and 250MSY, each of which is a separate model with its own equipment.
