What the maker published about the DMG MORI NL2000Y/500

Mori Seiki fitted the NL2000Y/500 with a Y axis and filed it among its NL2000 CNC lathes as a turning center. Turned diameter can reach 356 mm, against a standard turning diameter of 275 mm, and the longest turned length is 510 mm. Travel runs 260 mm on X and 590 mm on Z. Y adds 100 mm, laid out as ±50 mm either side of center. A single figure covers the main spindle: 5,000 min-1, though the maker cautions that fixtures and tools in use can hold it below that ceiling. Twelve tools mount on the turret as standard, and turrets with 10, 16 or 20 stations were listed as options. Fitting the 20-station head lowers the turned diameter limit to 278 mm, the standard turning diameter to 192.6 mm and Z travel to 580 mm. For driven tools, 6,000 min-1 is the top speed.
