2008 DMG MORI NL-2000/500
Metal Cutting
4 DMG MORI NL-2000/500 listings have come through the used market we track: 4 marketplaces, built 2007–2008; 3 machines once repeats are merged.
Mori Seiki's NL2000/500 appears among the NL2000 CNC lathes, and its page gives no Y axis, no rotary tool speed and no second spindle. A workpiece may measure 356 mm across at most and run up to 510 mm in length, 275 mm being the standard diameter. The X axis has 260 mm of travel and the Z axis 590 mm. Its spindle speed range ends at 5,000 min-1, and the maker warns that some tools and clamping make that top speed unusable. On the turret, 12 tool places are standard, and a 10 place turret is the option. Rapid rates, chuck size and bar capacity are not given, nor are a control, a motor rating or a weight.

Mori Seiki's 2004 NL page counts 30 versions of the series on a small frame; the NL2000/500, with an 8-inch chuck and no suffix letter, takes chucked work of up to 356 mm diameter and 510 mm length.
