What the maker published about the Zimmermann FZ30
F. Zimmermann presented the FZ30 together with the FZ35 on one page: both are portal milling machines, and the working figures given there are ranges spanning the two sizes. Along the bed the X axis covers 3,000 to 6,000 mm, the Y axis spans 2,360 to 3,360 mm across, and Z gives 1,000 to 1,500 mm of vertical stroke. Tables run 5,000 to 8,000 mm long and 2,000 to 3,000 mm wide at a height of 400 mm, carrying at most 30,000 kg per square metre. Their lengthwise T-slots are 18 H12, or 18 H8 as an option, spaced 250 mm apart. For the FZ30, Zimmermann names finishing of steel and cast iron along with milling of light metals and plastics, and reserves light roughing for the FZ35. Several parts, different ones included, can be clamped together and cut in sequence, also through unmanned shifts.
