What the maker publishes about the current Toshiba TUD 20

Toshiba's TUD 20 is a CNC vertical boring and turning mill from the TUD series, which the maker now publishes as Shibaura Machine. On the TUD 20 its crossrail rises and falls through 750 mm (29.5 in). The rest is how Shibaura Machine's series page describes the TUD design: a hydraulic cylinder moves the crossrail in steps of 250 mm (9.84 in); cutting tools sit in a square ram of 220 mm (8.66 in), held on all four sides, where an ISO No. 55 7/24 taper with a collet type pull stud clamps each tool automatically; a motor with two gear steps turns the table through a large helical gear underneath; four independent hand operated jaws come standard, each clamping with up to 4 metric tons; and an ATC and an APC are special options.
