What the maker published about the Okuma MB-8000H

Okuma built the MB-8000H as a horizontal machining center, listed in its MB-H Series alongside the MB-4000H, MB-5000HII and MB-10000H. Parts weighing up to 2000 pounds ride on a 31.5 x 31.5 in rotary pallet, and the work envelope reaches 51.18 x 43.31 x 49.21 in. Okuma names three spindle options for the machine. The base spindle covers 50 to 6,000 rpm, and an optional spindle reaches 12,000 rpm. On the high winding, the spindle is rated at 40/30 hp as standard and 50/35 hp as an option. The rapid traverse rate is given as 1,968 ipm. A 40-tool magazine comes as standard, with eight larger optional magazine sizes running from 81 to 285 tools, while the product description gives a capacity of up to 400. Automation can take the form of a pallet pool, an FMS or Okuma PALLETACE, and the maker describes the machine for both high production and small-lot work.
