Okuma builds the LB3000 EX II as a horizontal CNC lathe in its LB EX Series, on a slanted box bed and the maker's Thermo-Friendly Concept for keeping thermal growth low. It turns parts up to 16.14 in across and 19.69 in long, and longer bed versions are listed at 39.37 in and 51.18 in. The spindle has a JIS A2-6 nose and a speed range of 45 to 5,000 min⁻¹, and the PREX spindle motor is rated 30/20 hp. Rapid traverse is 984 ipm on X and 1,181 ipm on Z. Live tooling, a sub-spindle and a Y axis are offered as options, together with a choice of bed lengths and bore sizes. Okuma pairs the machine with its open-architecture OSP-P control, and the published figures are for the OSP-P500 configuration.

When the Okuma LB3000 EX-II was built

Okuma's release of August 10, 2016 introduced a bed 30 percent longer for the L, M and MY versions of the LB3000 EX-II, so the model was in production by 2016; the release does not give the year the EX-II itself first went on sale.
