Mazak lists the VTC-200C as a vertical machining center in its VTC series, a line the maker describes as traveling column machines in which the table stays fixed while the spindle moves. On the VTC-200C the table measures 78.74" × 20.08". Travel along X is 65.35", while Y and Z each move 20.08". The spindle takes CAT tool shanks as standard and turns up to 15000 rpm, and its motor is rated 22 kW (30 HP) on a 10 minute rating. The automatic tool changer stores 24 tools. On the series page the VTC-200C shares its shank group with the VTC-300C, which has the same 78.74" table length but a narrower 18.11" table width.

• Spindle taper. The manufacturer gives a spindle taper of CAT No.40. Check it for fretting and that the drawbar holds a tool.
• Axes and way covers. The manufacturer gives X 65.35", Y 20.08" and Z 20.08" of travel. Run each axis end to end and check the way covers.
• Tool changer. The manufacturer gives the tool capacity as 24. Cycle every pocket and watch for a hesitation.
• Table. The manufacturer gives a table size of 78.74" × 20.08". Check the table and its T-slots for damage.

When the Mazak VTC-200C was built

Mazak's release of June 26, 2019 put a newer MAZATROL CNC on the VTC-200C, so the model was in production in 2019; Mazak's pages do not give the year it was introduced.
