Mazak calls the VERTICAL CENTER SMART 510C a compact vertical machining center, and its Spanish page sets a work table of 1300 mm by 550 mm beneath a 40 taper spindle. That spindle can turn 12000 rpm, and its motor gives 25.0 hp when rated for five minutes. Grease fills the ceramic bearings inside it; the page credits them with more rigidity, less heat and lighter upkeep. Motion along X covers 1050 mm, the Y figure is 530 mm and the Z figure 510 mm, and each axis rides on MX roller guides. Thirty pockets hold the tooling, and a switch at the spindle lets a tool be clamped or released by hand for loading. The page lists a SMART CNC that takes programs in either MAZATROL conversational or EIA format, says the control panel was reshaped for easier viewing, and mentions joining articulated robots to the machine.
