What the maker published about the Mazak QTN-350
Mazak gave the QTN-350, a CNC lathe in its NEXUS line, a 12 in chuck plus a built-in spindle motor rated 40 hp, turning the spindle as fast as 3300 rpm. As standard, the bore through that spindle measures 3.5 in; an enlarged 4.4 in bore was optional, paired with a through-hole chuck of 12 in. Beds were listed at 60, 48 or 26 in. Rapid moves reach 1181 ipm across X but 984 ipm along Z. A single-step turret carries 12 tools, needing 0.2 seconds per indexed position. The tailstock is electric and servo driven, set entirely by NC program, with nothing to adjust by hand for a different part length. Mazak counted its Tool Eye presetting arm among standard features; it measures each tool, records the nose position offset and watches wear as cutting goes on. Bar feeding was an option.

What the Mazak QTN-350 is used for
Mazak's 2005 announcement put the QTN-350 to slow, heavy stock removal and to fast cutting of aluminum or other nonferrous metal, and, when an optional bar feeder works with the control's scheduling of bar feeding, to cutting sets or kits of mixed parts from one bar stock.
