Mazak tags the QT 350MY for milling and Y-axis work and lists it with a VDI turret, grouping it with the 12 inch chuck models in its CNC turning center range. Three universal types are published, the 650U, 1500U and 2000U, and all three share a Φ30" maximum swing, a Φ17" maximum machining diameter and Φ4" bar work capacity. Machinable length grows from 24" on the 650U to 63" on the 1500U and 83" on the 2000U, and Z stroke follows at 26", 63" and 84" respectively. X and Y strokes do not change between types: 10" and 6". Up to 4000 rpm is available at the 12" chuck, and the spindle drive is quoted at 30 kW (40 HP) over 30 minutes. The turret has room for 12 tools. For its 12 inch chuck machines, Mazak gives a Φ50 boring bar shank and a 25 mm turning tool shank.
