Mazak's HCN 5000-II, in full the HORIZONTAL CENTER NEXUS 5000-II, belongs to the horizontal machining center type, and its two-pallet changer is standard equipment. The pallets measure 500 mm, and a part may measure 800 mm across its diameter and reach 1000 mm in height. X and Y each give 730 mm of stroke. Integral motor spindles came in high-speed and high-torque forms, and the specification table pairs a 40 taper with 18000 rpm, listing 40.0 hp / 30 kw rated for 30 minutes. That same table puts 40 tools in the magazine, while the feature list says other magazine sizes could be fitted. The machine was also prepared for hookup to Mazak's PALLETECH System.
