Mazak Europe's German pages carried the HCN-4000 II under the full name HORIZONTAL CENTER NEXUS 4000-II, pitching this horizontal machining center at small and medium batch sizes. Each 400 mm square pallet can carry a part as wide as 630 mm across and as tall as 900 mm. Z gets the longest stroke at 640 mm, followed by Y at 630 mm and X at 560 mm, with 60 m/min given for rapids. As standard, the spindle holds steep taper 40 tooling and turns as fast as 18,000 rpm. Forty places make up the tool changer as standard, and the tools it holds also use a taper 40 shank. Its outline comes to 2,160 mm wide by 4,463 mm long.

Mazak Europe's 2013 German page sets the HCN 4000-II up to shorten machining time on small and mid-size lots by cutting the idle time around each cut, using current tooling and very high spindle speed, 18,000 rpm on its 40-taper spindle, on workpieces of 630 mm diameter and 900 mm height carried on 400 mm pallets.
