What the maker published about the Mazak HCN 6800-II
The HCN 6800-II is Mazak's HORIZONTAL CENTER NEXUS machine sized for a 630 mm pallet, a horizontal machining center whose two-pallet changer belongs to the standard build. Workpieces up to 1050 mm in diameter and 1300 mm high fit the envelope. X moves 41.34 in, the longest of its three strokes, while Z reaches 38.58 in and Y 35.43 in. Integral motor spindles were made in three kinds: high-speed, high-torque or standard. For the spindle in its specification table, Mazak printed a 50 taper, a 10000 rpm limit and 50.0 hp / 37 kw sustained for half an hour. A 43 tool magazine appears there too, one of several capacities the feature list mentions. Mazak listed an optional Hard Metal (HM) build for titanium and Inconel, and the machine could join a PALLETECH automation system from Mazak.
