Mazak classed the CYBERTECH TURN 5500T among its multi-tasking CNC turning centers and fitted it with two turrets: one above, and an 8-position one below that can turn at the same time as the upper one. Grooving, facing, threading and turning are done in one clamping, as is deep boring to 40". Two bed lengths, 2000U and 3000U, set the machining length at 80.000 in or 120.000 in. Over either bed the machine swings 36.02 in, and its maximum machining diameter is 26.610 in. The X stroke is 19.29 in and the X2 stroke 9.06 in, while Z moves 86.81 in or 126.77 in and Z2 and W each 60.43 in or 100.39 in, by bed length. Its tailstock moves under servo control and can be fully programmed. Threading is a function built into the machine, deep-hole boring has an automatic changer, and either MAZATROL conversational format or G code format, or a mix, serves for programming. Pipe could be re-threaded through an optional program.
