What the maker published about the Mazak CYBERTECH TURN 4500M
Among Mazak's CYBERTECH TURN machines, the 4500M is a heavy multi-tasking turning center, and the M marks the driven milling tools on its 12-position upper turret. That drum turret takes 12 turning tools, 12 rotary tools or a mix of the two. With it the machine mills, drills, taps and bores holes as deep as 40" without a second setup. On all three beds, the 2000U, 3000U and 4000U, swing reaches 33.86 in and machining diameter 31.890 in. Machining length grows with the bed, from 82.360 in to 122.320 in and then 162.320 in. The main spindle motor gives 50.0 hp / 37 kw for 30 minutes, while the rotary spindle runs to 3000 rpm on 15.0 hp / 11 kw. The tailstock is servo driven and fully programmable, a threading function is built in, and deep-hole boring uses an automatic changer. Programs can be MAZATROL conversational, G code or both, and a pipe re-threading program was an option.
