What the maker publishes about the current Makino V22
Makino's V22 is a vertical machining center for small workpieces, built around a 40,000 rpm spindle with an HSK-E32 taper. Its table measures 450 x 350 mm and sits 900 mm above the floor, and the swing control panel turns through 180 degrees. Travels are 320 mm in X, 280 mm in Y and 300 mm in Z, the biggest workpiece is 450 x 475 x 200 mm, and the table carries up to 100 kg. A 30 tool magazine is standard and a 60 tool one optional, for tools up to 32 mm in diameter and 0.5 kg, and a tool change takes 8 seconds. Rapid traverse is 20 m/min and the cutting feed reaches 10,000 mm/min. Makino puts the power draw at 15 kVA and says that is a cut of roughly half, and it lists an optional hybrid tool length measuring device that measures and corrects both the tool tip and the rotating spindle nose.
