Makino's PS65 is a three-axis vertical machining center that Makino lists next to the PS105 as the next generation of its PS-Series. The PS65 table measures 920 x 510 mm and takes a payload of up to 600 kg, and the axes travel 660 mm in X, 510 mm in Y and 460 mm in Z. Its spindle turns to 14,000 rpm with a CAT40 taper, HSK-A63 being optional, and it rides on 85 mm bearings. Rapid traverse is 48,000 mm/min along X and 36,000 mm/min along Y and Z, and the cutting feedrate reaches 30,000 mm/min. A 30-tool magazine comes standard, a 60-tool magazine is an option, and a single tool may weigh 8 kg. Tools can be loaded from an exterior station or placed straight in the spindle. A dual-speed changer exchanges lighter tools faster once it recognizes them. The ball screws are core cooled, and the specification table answers yes for a rib head.
