Hyundai WIA's American arm described the E160A as a compact CNC lathe whose bed is a single casting slanted at 45 degrees. On its spec table the E160A swings 18.9 in over the bed and turns lengths up to 11.8 in, with a 6 in chuck on the main spindle and bar capacity of 1.77 in. The spindle reaches 6,000 rpm on 14.7/10 hp (11/7.5 kW). Cross travel on X is 6.5 in and Z travel is 13.0 in; both rapid at 1,181 ipm on linear motion guideways, each axis driven by a pretensioned ball screw with a double nut. A servo indexes the VDI turret, which locks on a three piece curvic coupling, and a live tool version is marked M type. No Y axis or second spindle is listed. Two longer siblings, the E160LA and E160LMA, share the same page and the same swing.
