What the maker published about the Haas SL-40
The SL-40 is listed by Haas as an SL Series CNC lathe rated to turn work of 25.5 x 44 in (648 x 1118 mm). It carries a 15 in (381 mm) chuck, and bar up to 4.0 in (102 mm) passes the spindle. For the series Haas describes a Big Bore option that adds capacity on the same footprint. Its headstock casting is large, with ribs laid out symmetrically. The motor switches between wye and delta connection while turning, and built-in chip trays work with the coolant system to remove chips. The page also lists a Live Tooling menu item. Haas says its control brings tool management and single-button features, shown on a color LCD, with a USB port.
