What the maker published about the Haas SL-20
The SL-20 belongs to Haas's SL Series of CNC lathes, with 10.3 x 20 in (262 x 508 mm) of turning capacity and an 8.3 in (210 mm) chuck. Bar up to 2.0 in (51 mm) fits through the spindle. For the whole series Haas mentions a Big Bore option, which enlarges capacity without changing the space the machine occupies. The headstock is a large casting braced by symmetric ribs, and the spindle motor changes between wye and delta windings on the fly. Chip trays are set into the machine, and a coolant system is included. The page's menu has a Live Tooling heading, and the control it describes has tool management, one-button functions and a 15 in color display.
