The main units are a horizontal motorized spindle, a tilting rotary table, a disk-type tool magazine and a scraper-type conveyor that carries chips away. Working travels are 800 mm in X, 950 mm in Y and 905 mm in Z. Axis speeds reach 90 m/min in X, 50 m/min in Y and 100 m/min in Z. The interference diameter is 900 mm. Chip-to-chip time is 2.6 s, measured to VDI 2852. Positioning is specified to within 0.006 mm in X, Y and Z. Table load is listed as 525 kg both without and with a pallet. The machine weighs 19,000 kg without a pallet changer and 22,000 kg with one. GROB states that the G-modules handle wet as well as dry machining.
