Gleason-Pfauter listed the P 350 as a CNC gear hobbing machine, its work axis set vertically. Teeth are generated on shaft-type as well as disc-type parts, covering every rolled profile or form spaced evenly around the cylindrical surface of a workpiece. Coolant can be used for wet cutting, or the Power Cutting dry process can replace it. The nominal workpiece diameter is 350 mm, and 8 mm is the module given as a guide. A 400 mm stroke on the axial slide comes as standard, with 600 mm as an option. The equipment list names digital drives on all axes, incremental measuring systems and an electronic handwheel. The hob head is driven without backlash, swivels and clamps automatically, and holds its arbor in a rapid clamping fixture, while the workpiece table is steel, hardened and ground.

The German page from Gleason-Pfauter set the P 350 to cut gear teeth on shafts and on wheel-shaped blanks, wet with coolant or dry, for profiles that repeat at regular steps around a cylinder.
