What the maker publishes about the current Gleason 360T
Gleason's 360T Universal Gear Tester checks bevel and cylindrical gears by rolling a gearset together under CNC control. It tests spiral, hypoid and cylindrical sets in nearly any configuration and at almost any shaft angle. The machine accepts workpieces up to 450 mm across, with the pinion driven at a maximum of 3,000 rpm. Three kinds of measurement are made on it: the pattern where the teeth touch, single flank testing and structure borne noise, with the noise readings reaching 3000 rpm. Gleason started from the features of its Turbo Tester and extended them to angular setups. Two builds exist, one with a right angle layout that saves floor space and one angular version. For control, the page pairs Windows based software with a Fanuc 31i.
