What the maker published about the DMG MORI NV 5000B/40

Mori Seiki placed the NV5000B/40 among the vertical machining centers of its NV series and gave it a 1,020 mm X stroke, produced by the table moving lengthwise. Across the machine, the saddle provides 510 mm of Y motion, and the spindle head gives 510 mm of vertical Z motion. The table surface is 1,320x600 mm, and its load limit is 1,200 kg. Its tool magazine has 30 pockets, with a 60 pocket magazine as an option. Holders use the MAS BT-40 shank, and CAT-40 holders were an optional alternative. Spindles reached 12,000 min-1 as built or 20,000 min-1 when the optional unit was fitted. A footnote warns that this top figure may not be reached, depending on how the part is clamped and which fixture and tool are chosen.

The B/40 is the long-table NV5000: Mori Seiki's 2003 series page gives it 1,020 mm of X travel on a 1,320 x 600 mm table, against 800 mm for the A version, with the same 12,000 min-1 spindle for vertical milling.
