What the maker published about the DMG MORI DMU 60 EVO

On June 9, 2011 Mori Seiki opened its order book for the DMU 60 eVo. Its German partner Gildemeister built this five axis vertical machining center as part of the eVo series. Its X and Y axes are carried high in the frame, a gantry layout that keeps the spindle overhang short, and the working area is open from two sides. Strokes are 600 mm in X and 500 mm in both Y and Z. The swivel rotary table measures 600 x 500 mm with a 630 mm corner diameter, tilts from -5° to +110°, rotates through 360° and carries 400 kg, twice what earlier eVo tables carried. A 14,000 min-1 spindle rated 18.9/14 kW is standard, with 18,000 and 24,000 min-1 spindles as options, and a chain magazine holds 30 tools, or 60 or 120 optionally. Ball screws move X and Y at 50 m/min. The machine stands on 2,150 x 2,830 mm, or 6.1 m2.
