Haas makes the VF-5/50 as a 50-taper model in its VF Series, a three-axis vertical machining center whose spindle drives through a 2-speed gearbox. Next to the VF-5/40 it has a bigger taper and higher torque. X travel is 50.00 in, Y is 26.00 in and Z is 25.00 in, and the gap from spindle nose to table runs from 7.9 in to 32.9 in.
