Haas gives the VF-5/40XT a longer X stroke than the plain VF-5/40, and the page sets that stroke at 60.0 in (1524 mm), with 26.0 in (660 mm) on Y and 25.0 in (635 mm) on Z. The 62.0 x 23.0 in table has 7 T-slots and carries 4000 lb (1814 kg) of evenly spread load. Its spindle is an inline direct-drive unit, liquid cooled and lubricated by injected air and oil; it turns to 8100 rpm, with power rated at 30.0 hp (22.4 kW). The X axis motor delivers 3400 lbf of thrust, the Y and Z motors 4100 lbf each, and rapids are 710 ipm on all three axes. It takes CT or BT 40 tooling. Standard equipment includes a carousel tool changer with 20 pockets, a coolant tank of 95 gallons with variable flow, a window air blast and rigid tapping, and the page adds that Haas designs and builds its machines in Oxnard, California.
