On the Tsugami SS207-5AX, a 20 mm Swiss type lathe with a sliding headstock, six live tools ride a servo-driven B axis, three at the front and three at the rear, and cut in step with the C axis. Seven axes run under a FANUC 31i-B5, with simultaneous 5-axis machining through CAD/CAM. B-axis control handles thread whirling and hobbing without dedicated attachments. Through the guide bushing the headstock strokes 210 mm; run as a chucker with the optional kit and no bushing, it strokes 45 mm. Tool positions reach 35, with 13 live as standard and 15 at most. Both the main spindle and the sub spindle run from 200 to 10,000 rpm, live tools reach 8,000 rpm, and the main spindle draws on a 2.2/3.7 kW motor. A back cross spindle and a high speed spindle are optional. Floor space is 2,110 × 1,200 × 1,885 mm, and weight is 3,300 kg. A LaserSwiss version adds laser cutting and welding heads, programmed and run from the same control.

Tsugami America's 2022 page puts the SS207-5AX to work on small parts with sculpted contours and odd angles: its swiveling B axis lets one tool drill, tap or end mill at any angle, so fewer tools are needed, and with the optional chucker kit it can run without its guide bushing on drawn bar rather than centerless ground bar, leaving shorter remnants.
