What the maker published about the Tos SN 710S
A 2004 copy of the TRENS a.s. site lists the SN 710 S, a lathe on a cast iron bed with rapid traverse in both axes and a simple system for cutting all common threads. It swings 720 mm over the bed, 430 mm over the cross slide and 960 mm in the bed gap, which gives 300 mm of usable width. Distance between centers comes in lengths of 1500, 2000, 3000 and 4000 mm. The spindle turns from 10 to 1600 rpm and has a size 8 nose to ISO 702/III and a metric 90 taper bore. Travel is 400 mm on the cross slide and 180 mm on the tool carrier, and rapid traverse runs at 3000 mm/min lengthwise and 1500 mm/min across. The machine cuts 29 metric, 38 Whitworth, 26 module and 31 diametral pitch threads. Its tailstock sleeve is 90 mm across, takes a MORSE 5 taper and has 240 mm of stroke. Optional versions include an inch machine, a CAMLOCK 8 spindle nose and a headstock with a 105 mm bore. Weight rises with bed length from 3090 to 3890 kg.
