What the maker publishes about the current Okuma MB-46VAE
Okuma's MB-46VAE is the extension type of the MB-46VA vertical machining center, and the E lengthens the ram saddle's X stroke from 560 mm to 762 mm. Y and Z each cover 460 mm, and the spindle nose can sit anywhere from 150 to 610 mm above the table top. Parts up to 1,000 x 460 mm and 700 kg can be clamped on it. In standard trim the No. 40 taper spindle reaches 8,000 min-1 on an 11/7.5 kW motor, while a 15,000 min-1 spindle rated 22/18.5 kW is an option. Twenty tools load into the standard magazine, and a 32 tool magazine is optional. Okuma gives an overall height of 2,746 mm and a floor area of 2,236 x 2,810 mm, and asks for a 22 kVA supply with the 8,000 min-1 spindle plus 500 L/min of air above 0.5 MPa.
