CNC Horizontal Machining Centers (HMC)
2 Okuma MA 500HII listings have come through the used market we track: 2 marketplaces, built 2013 where given.
Okuma classes the MA-500HII among its horizontal machining centers and files it under the MA-H series. Work rides on a rotary pallet measuring 500 x 500 mm. Its machining volume, 700 x 900 x 780 mm, is the same as its X, Y and Z travel. As standard the spindle runs at 6,000 min-1 with a 30/22 kW motor, which Okuma also gives as 40/30 hp; optional spindles reach 12,000 or 20,000 min-1, and a 37/26 kW motor is an option too. Feed axes rapid at 60 m/min, or 2,362 ipm. Forty tools fit in the base magazine; optional magazines step through eleven sizes, the smallest holding 60 tools and the largest 400. For the MA-H series as a whole, the maker cites a double sleeve cooling system around the spindle that evens out spindle head temperature to keep it from deforming. Okuma points the machine at long, continuous die and mold runs as well as mass production, and at heavy cutting as well as fine finishing.

Okuma Europe writes of the MA-H series, the MA-500HII's family, that a 60 m/min axis feed reaches parts almost at once, so a shop can cut components close to when they are needed and keep little stock, with spindles holding full power from low to high speed.
