Okamoto Corporation's 2014 page for the ACC-12•24SA calls it a saddle type surface grinder of the next generation in automatic form, run by electronic control while still letting the hands do the work when wanted. A wide frame keeps the table from hanging over its base, and the table rides on double vee slides. Setup goes in through an MDI control, a touch pad gives cross and vertical rapid feeds, and a teach function stores the crossfeed position. A micro feeder is standard, and a manual pulse generator is built into the control. The vertical feed is driven by an AC motor and moves in steps as small as 0.00005 inch, and flat and form grinding can run with programmed dressing and dress compensation. Screens on the control set the X and Z distances, the dressing position, the grinding data and the locator.
