The CAT No.40 spindle has a 12000 rpm limit and a motor rated 11 kW (15 HP) with 48 ft-lbs at 40% ED, or 7.5 kW (10 HP) and 35 ft-lbs continuous. Mazak's current VARIAXIS j page gives the j-500 multi-surface work with its A axis indexed, leaving simultaneous 5-axis curved surfaces to the j-500/5X, and shows series sample parts such as an aerospace fastener, a blower and a car control arm.
