What the maker published about the Mazak VARIAXIS I-700
Mazak's VARIAXIS i-700 is a 5-axis vertical machining center that can cut with all five axes moving at once, and Mazak filed it under 5-axis, vertical and automation/Palletech machines. Its work envelope takes parts up to 27.560 in in diameter and 19.690 in high. The spindle has a No. 40 taper, runs to 12000 rpm, rated 30.0 hp for 30 minutes. The standard magazine holds 30 tools, and Mazak lists storage capacities of up to 120 tools for the machine. Tools are exchanged by a cam-driven changer. On the rotary side, the table tilts through 150 degrees on the A axis and indexes through 360 degrees on the C axis, driven by roller gear cams. Travel is 24.80 in in X, 43.31 in in Y and 23.62 in in Z, and the linear guides are Mazak's MX Hybrid Roller Guide System. A two-pallet changer is optional, and MATRIX 2 is the control.
