Mazak's SLANT TURN NEXUS 550M is a big bore CNC turning center with geared headstocks, and the M points to rotary tools for drilling and milling as secondary work. Four bed lengths were listed, 1000U through 4000U, and length is where they part ways: work up to 41.340 in long on the shortest, then 80.470 in, 125.160 in, and 160.160 in on the longest. An NC servo tailstock, a MATRIX NEXUS control and its MX Hybrid Roller Guide System complete the machine; other spindle bores and front or rear chucks were optional.
