Mazak's Japanese product page describes the SLANT TURN NEXUS 500 as a large CNC lathe that takes heavy cuts on long workpieces of big diameter. Its spindle motor is put at 45 kW / 60.0 HP on a 30 minute basis, peak torque reaches 7000 N・m, and the spindle is held to 1600 min-1. An 18 in chuck is specified. Four beds are tabled, from 1000U up to 4000U, and every one of them keeps a 1040 mm swing, a 910 mm cutting diameter, 465 mm of X stroke and twelve tool positions on the upper turret. Length is the variable. Machinable length grows from 1047 mm on the 1000U to 2040 mm, 3175 mm and finally 4064 mm on the 4000U, Z stroke from 1175 mm to 4190 mm, and W stroke from 870 mm to 3890 mm.
