Mazak listed the SLANT TURN 450 on its Hungarian product page as a CNC lathe whose rigid frame is meant for heavy cuts, in 1000 mm, 1500 mm and 2000 mm universal bed versions. The introduction gives chuck sizes of 12 or 15 inches (304.8 or 381 mm), a machining diameter of 620 mm and a machining length reaching 2044 mm. The table that follows gives the 1000 mm bed's figures. There, swing measures 716 mm, narrowing to 518 mm over the carriage, and a 12" chuck is specified. A 30 kW motor, rated for 30 minutes, drives the spindle to no more than 3,000 rpm. A dozen tools ride on its turret. On X the rapid rate is 20 m/min, against 24 m/min on Z.
