Turning and 5-axis milling meet in Mazak's INTEGREX i-400, a multi-tasking machine built on a turning center with a separate milling head that swivels on a B axis. A 12 in chuck fits the main spindle, whose top speed is 3300 rpm and whose rating is 40.0 hp / 30 kw for 30 minutes, and the bar capacity is 102 mm. Parts up to 658 mm across fit, the same figure as the swing. By bed (1000U, 1500U or 2500U), machining length is 1011, 1519 or 2497 mm, and Z travel 1077, 1585 or 2563 mm. On X the head moves 615 mm, and on Y 260 mm. Milling runs at up to 12000 rpm on 22 kw at 20 ED, through 240 degrees of B rotation. A 36-tool ATC is standard, and a 72-tool magazine was optional. The C axis contours in full, and the NC tailstock is programmable.
