Mazak's HQR-150MSY is a CNC turning center built with a pair of spindles and a pair of turrets, plus milling and a Y axis. A 6" chuck sits on the main spindle, which has a Φ2.99" bore and a top speed of 5000 rpm. Its motor is rated 15 kW (20 HP) for 30 minutes and 11 kW (15 HP) continuous, and torque reaches 172 ft-lbs at 15%ED. The second spindle carries another 6" chuck yet runs faster, to 6000 rpm, on 11 kW (15 HP) for 30 minutes or 7.5 kW (10 HP) continuous. Mazak gives the upper and lower turret a tool storage capacity of 12, with 1" shank height and Φ1" boring bar shanks. Rotary tools reach 6000 rpm and 26 ft-lbs, driven by 5.5 kW (7.5 HP) over 10 minutes. On the upper turret X, Y and Z travel 7", 4" and 20"; the lower turret moves 4", 4" and 23". Machining capacity is Φ11.625" by 24.375". Height is 96" and machine weight 20326 lbs.
