What the maker publishes about the current Mazak HCN 8800
Mazak's HCN-8800 is a horizontal machining center equipped with a 2 pallet changer and 31.5" × 31.5" pallets, and it handles workpieces up to Φ57.09" × 57.09". The spindle takes CAT No.50 tooling and runs to 10000 rpm, driven by a 37 kW (50 HP) motor on a 30 minute rating or 30 kW (40 HP) continuously, for torque of 350 N･m and 238 N･m respectively. Mazak also lists optional spindles reaching 16000 rpm (high speed) or 8000 rpm (high torque). Travels are 55" in X, 47" in Y and 52" in Z, and the spindle center can be placed 4" to 51" above the pallet top. Each axis rapids at 2362 IPM. The magazine holds 60 tools up to Φ5" across, or Φ10" with empty neighbors, 25" in length and 66 lbs apiece. With its MAZATROL control, the machine needs 166" × 322" of floor in width and length, rises to 147" and weighs 66138 lbs.
