Haas lists the ST-30Y as a Y-axis CNC lathe of the ST line, with a maximum capacity of 18 x 23 in and bar work to 3.0 in. Over the front apron parts can swing 31.8 in (806 mm); over the cross slide 20.8 in, and over the tailstock 23.0 in, with 30 in between centers. X travel is 12.5 in, Y travel ±2.0 in and Z travel 23.0 in; Z thrust reaches 5100 lbf. Cutting diameter reaches 18.0 in, depending on the turret. The turret is a 12-station BMT65 base mount design with driven tools good for 4000 rpm, a C axis is built into the main spindle, and boring bars get 4.00 in of clearance behind the turret. Haas fits a 10 in hydraulic chuck to the A2-6 nose and a belt-driven spindle rated 30 hp, with a gearbox as an option.
